Today would be a bitter sweet day. The day we had been waiting for finally came; we would know the extent of the diagnosis and the name and details of the battle we were thrust into.

We woke up strong in The Lord and as ready as anyone could be to face what lay ahead; however, once you step foot in MDA, the reality of the hurt many are going through hits you and it is hard not to be moved emotionally. Our heartfelt compassion goes out to all those who are contending for their own breakthroughs. Our admiration goes out to the staff of this healing center. We have decided to look at the cup half full as opposed to half empty. With this in mind, let me share with you the diagnosis that many who are joining us on this journey have been waiting for. We will start with the positive.

The cancer is not in his bone marrow, nor is it in his brain. This was a big concern, and we are beyond thankful to The Lord for the good news. Now for the prayer-contending news: Doug has been diagnosed with stage 4 Large B Cell lymphoma. We are needing to do another biopsy asap to determine which of two protocols his attending physicians will choose. The cancer has spread to his liver, chest, abdomen, and throughout his body. Interestingly, the blood work shows that all the organs are working perfectly and his t-cell counts and immune system are working well. This is good news. We are contending with a very aggressive cancer, but it can be fought aggressively. Our trust is in The Lord, and we truly have a peace in the midst of this storm.

The Bible says that the prayers of the righteous avail much. We are confident that they have been heard, and they will continue to be heard, as you all join us in praying for a complete healing. We are expectant of a miracle, as we know that there is nothing impossible for our God.

We will travel as planned to The Response South Carolina where Doug will be facilitating again. We will join thousands in prayer, worship and fasted-ness, saturating heaven for our nation and nations of the world. Praise will be on our lips. Shortly after our return, we are anticipating starting Doug on chemotherapy. All is truly in God’s hands.

WE CAN NOT THANK YOU ALL ENOUGH FOR YOUR LOVE AND PRAYERS. We are beyond blessed and without words. As you pray for us, please don’t forget to pray for the many who don’t have a support system or knowledge of The Lord. May they have amazing encounters with the Living God. Through this journey, may we also let His Life and Light shine in and through us in such a way that others may be drawn to Him. We know that the Great Physician, Himself, is overseeing the whole process!

Isaiah 26:3: You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.
